These are all the questions I've answered so far. They haven't been formattted except the questions are in bold.

These original posts, before I started posting at The Leaky Cauldron, are embarrassing to me. I know much more now (regarding character names and what it was I was seeing) than I did then. Please forgive my ignorance.

I just saw Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire! (SPOILERS!)

I just got back from a test screening, and I thought it was very good! I still like the 3rd one best, but this was almost as good, and definitely better than the 1st two (which I thought were both alright). I haven't read any of the books except the 1st one, so I have no idea how faithful it was or whether fans will be screaming bloody murder.

I got the pass when I went to see Howl's Moving Castle. We weren't told what the movie would be, just that (as it says on the pass) "This is a new family movie from a major Hollywood studio, scheduled to be released in theatres some time later this year."

The music track was temporary, but I thought it sounded just fine. I have no idea what it might have been from. I'm sure others will pop up with more information. The special effects weren't anywhere near done, and I thought it was fascinating to see what was essentially a work print, with many scenes in front of green screen, several effects in wire frame, colored dots on actor's faces, and flying scenes where the wires were not yet digitally removed.

Without having read the book and not knowing anything about the plot, I was able to follow it fairly well. It made me want to read the book, to get more detail. The pace was good, the acting was good, and the 14-year old in me has a terrible crush now on Ron, who I think is much cuter than Harry. Hermione didn't have nearly as much to do in this one, which was my only disappoinment. I didn't look at my watch at all, before or after, so I don't know how long it was, definitely over 2 hours though. It could have been longer though, because I find that world interesting. I guess I really should read the books.

There was a girl sitting beside me who not only hadn't read any of the books, she hadn't seen any of the other movies, and she didn't seem too impressed. Then again, she walked out of Fellowship after 20 minutes because she'd read the LOTR books and the characters didn't look anything like what she'd imagined. Uh, ok. We didn't have a lot to talk about after she said that.

Voldemort and Harry get into a wand fight. His parents appear and help him get away. He grabs the kid who'd been killed by Voldemort and grabs hold of the goblet, then they appear back in front of the school where everybody is waiting. Harry is taken away by Brendan Gleeson, who turns out not to be Brendan Gleeson, but some guy's son who's helping Voldemort (Gleeson is being held prisoner in a series of locked trunks.) Snape and not Richard Harris and Miss Brodie show up just in time to keep not Brendan Gleeson from killing Harry. Hermione tells Ron to just ask her to the dance next time, ok?

Ralph was GREAT! Very scary. I don't know what he'll look like in the end, because Feinnes had green dots all over his face, so I'm sure they'll CGI something that looks pretty horrific.

I was kind of snarky with my description, but that wasn't meant as being directed toward you cbrownjc. I was just too lazy to go look up the character names, sorry. A lot more happened than that (for instance, Malfoy's father was there at the graveyard too, no big surprise to me, even without having read the books). If anything though, it was too edited. I could have stayed in that graveyard longer. The whole movie could be longer and I wouldn't mind.

There were no ending credits

I think Alfonso Cuarón is a genius, so I was predisposed to adore the 3rd one. This one *felt* more like the 3rd one than the first two, very dark and forboding. The whole wizard world felt more dangerous, like someone actually could die (and someone did). I was amazed at the dangers that the wizard tournament put these students through. Parents must be very different there.

Golightly, not having read the book, I'm not sure what you mean by "fight." They don't physically clash, but they become estranged, because Ron (and many other students) think that Harry put his own name into the Goblet of Fire, when the rules had stated that you had to be 17 to take part in the tournament.

Miranda Richardson is a hoot as a reporter who keeps getting Harry's age wrong (she says 12, when he's actually 14). I get the feeling they cut her part down though. It seemed that she might have had more to do than just interview him once.

Corleone, I thought the movie was very exciting, but I'll just bet that certain scenes were cut down by necessity. The dragon fight, for instance, seemed short. As I said, everything could have been longer and I wouldn't have minded.

I'm sorry I'm not much of a reviewer. For an AICN moment, a better representative could have been chosen!

I don't feel the need to defend myself because I know where I was tonight. I thought about going to AICN, but that place scares the shit out of me. I feel brain cells popping every time I break down and go there. I had to tell somebody though, so I chose you guys.

Depending on how many places there are for special effects, this could get one of them, but not instead of the other biggies. One special effect that did seem pretty much finished was near the beginning, when a whole wizard camping area is wiped out by demons. A huge part of the sky is taken up by the face of a ghoul. THAT was scary! (a little before that was a funny bit...they-Ron's dad, sister, brothers, Ron, Herminone and Harry-go into a tent that from the outside looks like a tiny pup tent, but from the inside looks like a palace. Also, the bunk beds there are floating above each other.)

They chose about 20 people to stay for what I guess was a focus group, but they didn't choose me. They rushed everybody else out of the theater. We did get to fill out forms with our impressions, what characters and scenes we liked, things we didn't like. The security was intense. They checked everybody's bags (and wouldn't let people bring in cell phones) and wanded people, and they had things set up at the front that were probably infrared cameras to make sure people weren't recording. There were several big bouncer-looking guys dressed in black, not the type you'd want to be on the bad side of.

The screening was at Piper's Alley theater (right next door to Second City) in the big theater there, and it was pretty full, but not completely full. I sat in the 3rd row center and there was only one other person in my row and no one in front of me.

They'd had another screening earlier. When I got given my pass, I was asked if I had any kids to bring, especially between the ages of 9-12. Those passes were for 3pm, while ours was at 6pm. The screening was originally supposed to be at the River East 21, but it was changed to Piper's. I don't know why.

I tried to guess what the movie would be. I thought sure it would be Chicken Little. I was hoping for Narnia, but figured the special effects weren't anywhere near done. Harry Potter never even crossed my mind. When a guy went to the front and said that we were among the first to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, everyone cheered. There was also clapping when it was over, so most people seemed to like it.

I don't know how long the movie was because I didn't have a watch with me. The pass said to get there at least 45 minutes early for a 6pm start. I got there about 5 and there were already a lot of people in front of me. The fella who told us the name of the movie talked about the special effects not being done, and that the soundtrack was temporary. I don't know how long after 6 it actually started. I didn't leave immediately because I filled out the form, and went to the bathroom, but it was 9:06 when I walked out of the theater and looked at the bank clock across the street. Whatever, it was probably at least 2 and a half hours. I should have brought my watch.

The ball was in the movie. Ron asks Hermione as a last resort but she'd already been asked by the hulking Russian-type guy. Harry asks a cute Asian girl, but she's already been asked by the other Hogwarts student who's in the tournament. Harry and Ron finally go with a couple of Indian girls who end up finding Harry and Ron excruciatingly boring.

I don't know who Fudge is, and I can't remember a scene like that. Weird faces that I remember are Sirius, who only appears as a face made out of fire in a fireplace (very good special effects there), the son of someone important* when he changes from Brendan Gleeson to himself, several guys in the graveyard who have ghoulish masks on (Malfoy's father being one of them), and Voldemort, before he turns into Ralph Feinnes. Brendan Gleeson's face was pretty messed up, lots of scars and a fake eye that moved. His makeup was very well done.

*I don't know who that person is. Someone from Azkaban is being interrogated and names someone who claims innocence and who seems to be one of the judge's son, because the judge says something like "I have no son" or something like that. I don't remember exactly how it went. Harry was there, but not really there. He had been looking into a cauldron, and fell in and fell down into the middle of the proceedings, but no one could see him. That whole section was a bit confusing to me, and I'm sure is much clearer in the book.

I don't remember what the final shot was, sorry. I know that sounds dodgy, but I can't think of what it was. The screen went dark and everybody clapped, and then they were passing out the forms to fill out. Scenes from earlier in the movie have been playing in my head so whatever the last scene was, it's been driven out. If I think of it I'll let you know.

So there`s no scene where Snape (highlight to see the name) pulls up his sleeve and reveals dark mark on his arm?

WarriorKeira, he was there when not Brendan Gleeson revealed that he was not Brendan Gleeson (Professor Moody, I just looked it up), but I don't remember him showing a mark on his arm.

Even though I can't remember the last scene, the atmosphere of the ending seemed dark, like dark times are ahead. They didn't show what became of Voldemort, and I do know enough to know there are 3 more books, so I assume Harry's in for a lot more problems in the future. It certainly didn't end on a light note, other than Hermione reading the riot act to Ron about just coming out and asking her to a dance rather than waiting until she's been asked by someone else. I don't remember what came after that.

So how were some of the other actors in the movie like Brendan Gleeson? Did any character make an impression on you more than anyone else?

Brendan Gleeson/Moody made a big impression. The scars on his face and his horrific eye, and just the fact that he taught how to counter dark arts, made you know that his was a deep character who'd been through a LOT. There was one point when he had a run-in with Malfoy and turned Malfoy into a ferret. He said something like "I could tell you stories about your father that would curl your hair" (paraphrased) and I thought to myself I WANT TO HEAR THOSE STORIES! One of the reasons why I said I now wanted to read the book was to hopefully learn more about his character. Whatever his story is, I'll bet it'd make a great movie by itself. I want to see this movie day one when it opens not only to see what the final special effects will be like, but to see Moody again. I'm a big fan of Gleeson's anyway (The General is my favorite of his movies) but I didn't even realize it was Gleeson until the middle of the film. I was shocked at myself, because normally I tend to shift for a second when a known actor comes on (oh look, there's Emma Thompson! hey, that's Miranda Richardson!) but I didn't do that with Gleeson, someone I know well.

I take it the Fudge that WarriorKiera mentioned is the guy who was transforming himself into Moody? He was good for the short time he was on-screen. I was impressed with everybody, really. The acting keeps getting better and better I think. Fiennes wasn't there long enough, but his Voldemort was scary in that short time, and I assume the role is much bigger in the upcoming films. The woman who played the teacher of the girl's school was fun. They must have used special effects on her because she was very very tall. Hagrid didn't have much to do besides show Harry the dragons in advance, but he and that teacher seemed to get along famously. I love Michael Gambon as Dumbledore. I was disrespectful by not going to look up names earlier, so I just did it to make sure I got it right. He deserves much better than "not Richard Harris." Maggie Smith didn't have much to do in the movie. Shirley Henderson was back as Moaning Myrtle (what a creepy character, I'm not sure I like her). I'm not sure who else is who, regarding actor and character names. The teacher of the hulking Russian-type students was good, and I wonder if he has a bigger role in upcoming films. I'd like to see him again. I think he was born to play Rasputin, if he hasn't already.

sethsherwood, it's pretty dark, and characters do die. I have never understood the Hollywood rating system, so it's hard to say. I wouldn't be surprised to see it get a PG-13. Then again, what was Azkaban rated? It's about the same level of darkness.

Thanks for the compliments cbrownjc, though you are being kind. I realize I'm coming off kinda retarded. I wish I were a better writer.

The tournament was shocking in that the mom side of me kept thinking HOW CAN THEY PUT THOSE KIDS IN SUCH DANGER?? Not knowing what was coming made me very empathetic toward Harry, because he had no idea either. There were 3 parts, and all 3 came off very well, if too short (though I suppose they probably don't want to release the 4-hour movie I'd prefer). There were minature versions of the dragons when they each reached into a bag to pick which dragon they'd fight. Those were awesome. The only full-sized dragon you saw though, was Harry's, and it was terrifying. Harry didn't fight the dragon so much as hide behind rocks and then fly away on his broom, with the dragon chasing him around the Hogwarts grounds, then thwarting the dragon by a fancy manuver between that cool bridge. That whole scene was exciting. A lot of the special effects weren't done, and much of it was in wire frame. I can't wait to see the real thing. Er, "real" thing. I think it will have just about everybody on the edge of their seats.

The 2nd part was under water, in the lake, and had them looking for something that was precious to them. I was shocked again when I saw what those precious things were!! (is there no government agency regulating these schools?!?) I assume they were the same things that were in the book, so you know what I mean. The mermaid-like creatures who tried to stop the students were in the previews, but were much scarier in the movie. That whole section could have been longer too. I was a bit confused as to how Harry got out of the predicament he was in.

The maze sequence, again too short, was unfinished. I mean, most of the special effects were unfinished. I think it will be awe-inspiring in the final print though. I have a deathly fear of being lost in a maze (silly of course, since it's highly unlikely I'd ever even see a maze big enough to get lost in...it's just one of those weirdass dream fears, like waking up on a ledge over a Grand Canyon-like chasm) so that part of the movie will be excrutiating to me when I see it. Since it was unfinished I wasn't bothered too much. What was shown was exciting though.

I think Goblet, based on the book and your review, should definitely be a PG13-er.

The more I think about this movie, the more I think it's even darker than Azkaban, so yeah, it'll probably be PG-13.

It's funny, the night before, I saw the stage production of The Lion King for the first time (god I adore Julie Taymore, but damn, those non-African songs suck) so to have 2 nights in a row with weird, bizarre and wonderful visuals is taxing on my brain. You say half human half lion and all I can think of are those Lion King people. They were not in the Harry Potter movie.

WarriorKeira, I don't think you have to be pissed off. I think it *was* shown. I woke up thinking about a scene in Moody's office near the very end, someone's arm, with a creepy tatoo, and the tatoo was moving and shifting. You have to understand that so much was happening at that time and my mind was preoccupied, thinking it was over after the graveyard, then it not being over, then coping with the terrible thought that Moody was going to turn out to be a bad guy, then Dumbledore, Miss Brodie and Snape rushing in...What's happening? What are they doing? What just happened? What's next? Who's that? Where's the real Moody? Just racing back and forth. The movie is packed with so many little (and big) details that it's not easy for me to remember. I think it was him though.

They showed the beginning of the world cup, with players being introduced. That was the first you saw of Krum, yes, flying out on his broom. They talked of him being the best seeker(?) in the world. I do apologise for my being so casual with names. I'll call him Krum from now on. I don't remember dancing Leprechauns, but there was mention of an Irish team, and they conjured up colored clouds in the shape of a giant leprechaun after they flew out into the stadium. Very little of the game was shown. I don't remember anything after it being declared open and the headmaster waved his wand and out of the end of it came a flying red ball. The next scenes I remember are in the tent with everybody talking, then after they're asleep, Ron's father waking them up and all hell is breaking loose outside, with the tent village being destroyed.

There was a very funny scene, was it in the book? where Ron's brothers are going to try and put their names (written on pieces of paper) into the goblet of fire to try and get into the tournament. There's an "age" ring on the floor around the goblet. Hermione says it was put there by Dumbledore so he would know if anyone under 17 tried to put their names in the goblet. They both drink a potion to try and thwart the age ring. They get through it alright and put the pieces of paper in, but the goblet spits them out, then Ron's brohters turn into little old men.

Other random details, not in any particular order: Ron's mother sends him a package, an outfit to wear at the dance. It's an old worn coat with frills and lace. Ron is mortified.

On the train to Hogwarts, Harry tries to pay for something that Ron wants from the candy lady, but Ron refuses. You can tell he's very proud.

Harry wears the cloak of invisibility when Hagrid takes him to see the dragons.

Herminone is drop-dead gorgeous in her dance outfit. She's going to be a heartbreaker. It's obvious that Ron does have a thing for her, but doesn't want to admit it.

After Harry is chosen for the tournament, the kids all wear "Potter Stinks" buttons. Very mean, surprisingly mean. I was shocked that Ron and the other kids didn't believe Harry when he said he didn't put his name in the goblet of fire. It's not like he's a known liar, or am I not remembering something from one of the earlier movies?

I just did a Yahoo images search to find out the name of a character, Neville Longbottom. Neville had some very good scenes. First he was a victim of one of Professor Moody's spells (a spooky scene, not a funny one), then he had a charming scene where he was teaching himself to dance, then it looked like he was having a blast at the ball. I really liked him. When I go back and watch the other movies again, which is something I'm planning to do, I'm going to pay special attention to his character now.

Speaking of watching the other movies again, I have been pouring over the cast lists trying to put names to faces (why oh why don't all actors put their images up on IMDB?? ARGH!) and I noticed that Fudge is in the previous 2 movies. I didn't see his name in the first movie's credits. Shows how much attention to other characters I've been paying...not much. I must have sounded like a real dumbass when I said I didn't know who Fudge was, since this is like only the *3rd* movie in a row he's been the same character in. Well, I warned that I was far from the ideal person to have seen a test/sneak screening.

I love Julie Walters (Educating Rita is a favorite film) and she was not in the film. The rest of the family was, but not her.

There were no Dursleys in the film either. I don't remember the very first scene, but it all pretty much started with Mr. Weasley urging Harry to come on, come with them, and they climb a hill and take hold of an old boot, and then they're transported to the world cup.

"they're" being Mr. Weasley, Ron, Ron's brothers, Ron's sister, and Hermione. And Harry, of course.

Holy shit! 1,734 Views?? Now I'm very embarrassed about my early posts, and I'm wishing I'd taken the time to go look up names instead of using snarky-sounding names like Miss Brodie. I didn't mean any of it in a nasty way. I'm not like that. I just want to assure people that I do have more respect for the world of Harry Potter than maybe I came off sounding. My embarrassment almost makes me wish I hadn't posted at all, but not really, just that I'd been a bit more serious in how I wrote. I mainly wanted people to know that one non-book reader (a temporary situation) really enjoyed the movie.

How in the world, in just the time I wrote that last post, did it go from 1,734 Views to almost 4,000??

Hi all, I'm getting freaked out that my thread is hurting oscarwatch, so I have started posting at the Leaky Cauldron. The thread is in a very odd place though, not under the movie discussion. You can find it here. I hope all the Harry Potter sites are on friendly terms, because I don't want to be accused of favoritism.

I have mucho gigs of bandwidth. I wish I could give some of it to Oscarwatch to make up for the trouble I've caused. It's exciting to be in the center of attention, if a little scary when I think of thousands of eyes on my muggle ass, but I don't want to hurt oscarwatch by posting here anymore. Oh lord I hope The Leaky Cauldron has bandwidth. If not, and anyone has a better suggestion, let me know.

Then again...cbrownjc, the pacing was good, I just wanted more story. I got the impression that the snake attacked the man, but it happened very fast. Whatever attacked, it was a scary scene.

And Artimus, Brazil is my (caps are in order) ALL-TIME FAVORITE FILM. Bar none, since the day I first saw it, and I adore The Iron Giant beyond all reason (saw it about 10 times in the theater). No, I haven't read the book, and I can't say that since you have you'll enjoy the movie. You may well hate it. What it is not though, is boring, unimaginative and downright pathetic. I still liked Prizoner of Azkaban best, and if you thought that was boring, unimaginative and pathetic, we have no common frame of reference. If you thought it was the best of the first 3 films, then, you may like this because it's very similar in tone, look and feel.

Hi, I hope no one minds me barging in, since I'm an "unfamiliar" (that is, have only read the first book, have seen the previous 3 movies but didn't pay enough attention to characters other than the main ones) but I'm the Equipoise who posted at Oscarwatch. Since by now over 8000 people have viewed the thread (yikes!) I thought I should come here and say hi personally.

I hope I didn't come off as being too disrespectful in that thread, not knowing character's names and not taking the time to go look them up. I really didn't mean to be disrespectful, I was just lazy.

Obviously msmapper is the go-to person for in-depth questions and the person to listen to regarding the book as a movie, but until she comes back I can answer a few questions. Since you've all read the books I won't worry about spoiling (and assuming that those who don't want to be spoiled for the movie won't read this deep into the thread), and ask your forgiveness in advance for sounding like an ignoramus. Btw, I do fully realize that all of you should have been there instead of me. I'm glad I was there, but all of you deserved to be there too. At least you know I was into it and enjoyed it completely. Test screenings/sneaks of good movies are so wasted when the person doesn't appreciate the gift they've been given.

Being ignorant and not having the best memory in the world is likely to frustrate the heck out of a lot of people. I apologise in advance.

Yes, very well done too. The character of Moaning Myrtle helps Harry (she seems to have a huge crush on Harry). The bathroom itself is gorgeous, with a beautiful fountain in the middle.

annephoenix: I was just wondering what scenes Snape got in the film? Is he present a lot?

Not to me he wasn't. Not anywhere near as much as in Azkaban.

annephoenix: Also is the Dark Mark animated or like a standard tatoo?

Those who read that other thread know that I'd forgotten about this, but remembered it after I woke up this morning. The tatoo was definitely animated. I'll leave the question about Cruciatus/Imperius for msmapper. Also Star 69's question about the Priori Incantatem effect.

Escherichia: msmapper, can you tell us more about the overall feel of the film? Is the movie a departure from the other three movies? Is it much scarier and darker? And is the music from Patrick Doyle's score for the film? ... Was Ralph Fiennes evil enough?

Personally I thought it had much more in common with Azkaban than the first two, and the more I think about the movie I think it was at least as dark, and scarier. We were told that the music sountrack was temporary. The answer to the last question is, in my humble opinion, YES. msmapper may have another opinion since she knows how the character is supposed to be portrayed. He gave me chills though. I cut out the question about the trio, since I'd need my memory to be jogged as to who they were. That's one for msmapper.

More punk rock than pop. I didn't much care for it, but then, my tastes run toward female singers like Kate Bush, Happy Rhodes, Tori Amos, Charlotte Martin, Noe Venable, Jorane and such like that. I forgot about that scene, but now that it's brought back to mind, I'd say it was my least favorite thing about the movie. But don't mind me, it's just a matter of taste.

I'd forgotten about this until I read these questions, but the movie starts with an old man noticing a light in a window. He goes to investigate and listens outside the door. Voldemort, who you don't really see, is in a chair, and (I looked up his name) Peter Pettigrew (Wormtail?) is tending to him. Another character is there. I believe it's the same character who transforms himself into Professor Moody later. A huge snake (I just remembered, we saw the snake at the very very beginning too, slithering through the water) slithers past the old man and telepathically tells Pettigrew the man is there outside the door. You see the man frozen in terror, and the snake coming closer. It's freaky!

Ginny is Ron's sister? If so, then not much, just a few quick scenes. No, I don't think so. I don't remember a scene where Ron tells her to go to the ball with Harry. For the last, it depends on what you mean by "fight." There was no fisticuffs, they were just estranged for a while. Ron was being a real . He should have known Harry well enough to know that Harry wouldn't lie to him. Well, unless he did in an earlier movie and I have plumb forgotten it.

Slinkhard: Especially the ferret scene - is it as funny as it's cracked up to be?

Yes, I thought it was hilarious. I hate Malfoy (his father is mesmerizing though) so I love it when Hermione smacks him or he gets turned into ferrets.

I'm working as fast as I can. I'm having trouble with the quoting unless I reply to each one individually, which takes up a lot of space. kyrane, your list is a help, but I can't use it directly. I'll just be cutting and pasting from it. I can only post once every 15 minutes too, so that's keeping me checked.

I'm so sorry, I'm running behind because I'm having to do other things as well. I'm trying. Thank you for your thanks and your patience.

Please keep in mind that all of this was new to me (not the main characters and the world, but the situations and scenes), and so much was going on I couldn't possibly remember everything. And of course, they can always re-edit the movie.

Reading back through, there are so many questions I have to skip over, leaving it to the other poster. I don't remember anything about young Slytherins, there was nothing about Voldemort talking about his past (killing his father and grandparents, oh boy, have I been spoiled!), and I'm not sure about Tom Riddle. He does talk when he comes out of the cauldron, but I can't remember what he said. He confronted Malfoy's father, and gave Peter a new hand. It was a while before he even realized Harry was there, trapped on a gravestone by what looked like a stone sword.

baileycat, I don't remember Ginny acting any particular way around Harry. I know you all could pick up on a lot of looks and gestures that I wouldn't. She wasn't around when Harry asked the Asian girl (who I assume is Cho) to the ball.

shocolate, you would have to jog my memory about who Jarvis Cocker is. To my mind, Professor Moody stole the film.

I don't remember Harry and Ron going outside during the ball. There's a scene with them sitting in chairs, bored while everyone else is dancing to the music and having a good time (especially Hermione). The Indian girls they're with are bored to death by Harry and Ron and leave them sitting there.

Ania:1. What about the hospital scene after Harry returned from the graveyard?

Nope, no hospital scene.

Ania:2. And what about the scene in Dumbledore's office, where Sirius should be? How did they explain what was going on all year?

I can't answer this, sorry. The only scene with Sirius is when his face appears in the fire in the common room. What was supposed to be explained? Not a whole lot was explained. I didn't much mind because I knew I would see the movie again and read the book.

Ania:3. Was there any kind of comfort for Harry at all, or just light-hearted scene when Hermione told Ron to invite her next time?

I don't know about comforting Harry. The scene where Herminone confronted Ron wasn't light-hearted at all, not to me. I could feel the hurt and confusion all around.

Ania:4. Was Sirius even more handsome than he was in PoA?

Sirius wasn't shown as himself. His face was made out of fire.

Ania: 5. I've heard there was a scene with Harry, Hermione and Ginny talking near the lake. What was that about?

I don't remember this.

Ania: 6. That the heck was the curse fake!Moody used on Neville, 'cause I just can't remember that :/

It had something to do with an insect, kind of a grasshopper-like thing, only bigger. At first the sequence was funny, with the insect jumping from student to student, then it got very serious. I'm still a bit confused as to what happened, but it deeply affected Neville. He was found after class just staring at a window (not out the window, at the window) and looked very stunned and lost. My heart went out to him.

Ania: 7. How did you like Cho?

She was very cute, but wasn't shown much. Harry smiles at her on the train to Hogwarts. He asks her to the dance but she's already accepted the other student's invitation (the other Hogwarts student who is in the tournament). She was shown a few other times, but in passing.

Ania: 8. Was Hagrid taller this time (I've heard something like that)

I don't think he was taller at all. In fact, he and the teacher of the women's school (I just looked up her name: Madame Maxime) seem to really like each other, and she's WAAAAAAAAAY taller than him so he seemed even shorter than usual.

Ania: 9. What do you think about shipping in this movie? Does Hermione clings to Harry a lot? Do Hermione and Ron have pre-romantic arguments?

Very sweet, no not at all, and just that one, about asking her to the dance.

Ania: 10. What stuck you as very different from the book? What pleased you about things they included?

Oh, well, these questions aren't for me, are they? Ooops.

Ania: 11. How did you like kids' performances? Which one did you like best?

Neville was the one who stood out most. Even the 3 main characters didn't stand out for me as much as Neville, even though they had more to do.

Ania: 12. What do you think about Nevell's job?

I'm blanking out on Neville's job.

hg1, is Frank Bryce the other Hogwarts student in the tournament, or the old man? Both were murdered. I already posted about the old man. I don't remember how the student was killed. Too much whooshing information, sights and sounds.

Yeppers. Moaning Myrtle seemed to like it too. Harry was definitely worred about keeping the bubbles around him. She said the other student hadn't figured out the egg until the bubbles were all gone.

I don't remember this, which isn't to say it didn't happen. What is the imperius curse about?

Ok, now I'm realizing that Cedric is the student who died. My god you people are patient and kind! This is like someone coming into a Lord of the Rings thread having seen a sneak preview but knowing nothing and saying "that guy who died with all the arrows sticking in him" or something. I know how important characters are, and getting their names right (even knowing them) is a sign of respect, and I was so unfortunately flippant in the Oscarwatch thread I started. I tried a while ago to get some help from IMDB for who was who, but so many actors don't put up their picture. It would be so easy if I could just click on a name and a picture would come up and then I could say, yes, Cedric, instead of just that other student. You are all so nice.

It was very sad when Harry brought Cedric back. Everyone was cheering and whooping, but Harry was sobbing uncontrollably. Gradually people realized that something was very wrong, and then that Cedric was dead. The whole place fell into a hush. Cedric's father pushed through the crowd and the look on his face was just heartbreaking. Harry was the only one making a sound then, just crying and crying. Professor Moody pulled him away and took him back to his office.

Yes, and yes, though now I'm having a character confusion moment. I thought the character was someone named Fudge in the oscarwatch thread. I've just used Yahoo Images to get me straight on characters and now I know that David Tennant (my goodness he's cute with longer hair!) is Barty Crouch Jr. Ok, Crouch Jr was in the house at the beginning, yes, in the same room with Peter Pettigrew and Voldemort (before his transformation). I think Crouch Jr. was also the one who used his wand to conjure the huge ghoul face in the sky after the burning of the wizard's tents. He was also the one who was transformed into Professor Moody.

Whew!

Of course, now I don't recognize the character of Fudge, by name or face, and must go back and see what idiocy I wrote in the oscarwatch thread. Later.

No. The only time Harry use his cloak was when Hagrid took him to see the dragons.

I can't remember any explanation as to why Harry is with Ron's family. I don't believe there was any. It could have been something said very quickly that I missed, but I'm drawing a blank on it. Btw, Ron's mom, Julie Walters, was not in the movie. She was mentioned when Ron got a package from her with his dress robes for the ball. Poor Ron was mortified, because it had lace and frills on it. Everyone else in the family was in the movie, but not her. There was more shown of the Dursleys than there was of the World Cup, which was but a blip.

Oh, I like Harry a lot too. I don't know who Hermione ends up with. Does anyone, at this point? At the present it seems like Ron, and the tension in their relationship is getting intense, so I've been posting about that. It wouldn't bother me if she and Harry ended up together, as long as Ron found someone nice too. I do like him.

Yann Dìnendal: But what about the children ? Are they acting well ?

Hmmm, it seems as if their parts aren't as big in this one, and yes, I'm talking about Harry and Ron and Hermione. That statement could cause an uproar, but I don't know how else to put it. None of them had as much to do as they did in Prisoner of Azkaban. That's my impression anyway. Of course Harry was in the wizard tournament, but even there, he didn't do all that much. Answers to questions and proper actions to take seemd to fall in his lap (though that's been pretty common across the movies). For example, Neville was the one who told him about the ....um, I can't remember the name of it... weed that he chewed and caused him to grow gills and fins and webbed hands for the underwater segment. He didn't really fight the dragon as much as run away from it (though his manuver through the bridge was very clever). He didn't really fight Voldemort that much, because his parents stepped in pretty quickly.

I'm making this sound like a negative, and it's not, it's just a different movie. The action was exciting, very much so, but the moments that stick with me are character moments, such as Harry's fear at what's to come in the tournament, his confusion and anger at Ron's not believing him about him not putting his name in the goblet of fire, his terror but courage at facing Voldemort, his anguish at Cedric's death, the pain from his forehead scar, many other moments. As I write this though, I remember his saving Ron and the little girl in the lake, and saving Cedric's life in the maze, so my account is not to be trusted. I guess what I'm really trying to say is that the human emotional moments are what affect me most, rather than the action, but I take back what I said about Harry not doing all that much.

Hermione and Ron didn't have all that much to do. I stand by that. Their character moments were great though, alone, together, and with Harry.

Malfoy didn't do much except sneer and get turned into a ferret. Oh, and get that insect that Moody had sicced on him like the facehugger in Alien. I loved that.

Call me crazy, but the child character who affected me the most was Neville.

YES! It was great. It was very funny that the tent looked like a small pup tent from the outside, but looked like huge house from the inside. As Harry said when he stepped inside, "I love magic." Thanks, now I know those things are called DeathEaters.

Yes, lots of shots of the fans, though most were undone special effects. I didn't see anything about wizards dressing like muggles. I don't know who Percy is. There's no listing for a Percy on the IMDB page.

Yann Dìnendal: And what about Charly and Bill, the brothers of Ron ? Are they at the camp with them ?

The twins, the ones who try to get into the tournament, are at the World Cup with Ron, Ron't father, Ron's sister, Hermione and Harry. I don't know anything about brothers named Charly and Bill. They're not on IMDB.

He might have been there but I didn't see him/wouldn't know who he is.

Yes to the first question! The miniature dragons are AWESOME! They looked very real so if the special effects aren't done yet, I can't even imagine how they'll look in the final movie. No to the 2nd question. It's just said that they've successfully fought their dragons.

Ah! Ok, I get it. Krum is one of the Bulgarians/Durmstrang, right? I only saw girls in Madame Maxime's group, and don't remember seeing any girls with the Durmstrang. I haven't seen the trailer since it was released, and don't want to watch it now. Movies are so often very different from their trailers, and I don't want to think I saw something in the movie that was only in the trailer. If the groups were mixed in the trailer, maybe they were, but I didn't see it. The girls especially, were all very girly girls with bonnets and capes and dresses. A boy would have looked very strange among them and I think I would have noticed.

(Yikes, and I said "big hulking Russian-type guy" - how embarassing)

I am so sorry for the delay. I've just not been able to stay at the computer for very long for the last couple of hours. I have certain things I do on Sundays that I can't put off.

Also I got distracted a couple of times when people have sent me links. I need to respond to something in particular. Can anyone tell me how I can post to the Mugglenet News Comments area? Only a few times that I remember.

Those times, yes. If I think of more I'll post. Snape was with Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall when they went to rescue Harry from Moody.

Nahima: I want to know if there is an scene between Snape and Sirius, this should have appeared near the end of the movie.

I don't remember a scene with the two of them interacting. The only time I remember Sirius being in the movie is when his face appeared in the fireplace.

The end of the film faded away from me shortly after the movie ended, only because there was so much bustle once the lights came up, talking all around me, the announcer talking, the passing out of the reaction forms, filling them out, then there were so many scenes from earlier in the film that kept playing in my head. Believe me, if I remember exactly what the last scenes were, I'll post. I had forgotten how the movie started, and that came back to me.

I don't remember a specific scene, but that's likely the kind of thing that fans would notice right away that might slip by me. Hedwig (thank you felipe) and Sirius's owl were there. Harry sends a messge to Sirius via Hedwig. Sirius's owl (I assume it was Sirius's owl) broght back a message for Harry to meet Sirius in the Gryffindor common room later that evening. Harry's reading the message and puts one hand down and promtly gets bitten by the owl. The last line in the note is "He bites"

Not an eye patch as we usually think of one. It had straps like an eye patch, but instead of a black piece of cloth, it was a false eye. Most false eyes are static and don't move. Moody's did. It was creepy and fascinating at the same time.

I didn't think it was a spider. I mean, I didn't look at it and say, eiugh, that's a spider! I saw it more as a grasshopper/cricket type insect. But now I doubt. Maybe it was a spider! Without knowing what was going on, I got the impression Moody was putting the spells on the insect, but it was affecting the students. When the insect died, it certainly affected Neville.

Hey...

A kiss on the cheek!! This just now came into my head. Fleur Delacour (I've looked up her name to make sure it was right, with thanks to Felipe to make sure I got which sister was which) gives Harry a kiss on the cheek for saving her sister. Maybe that's the kiss I was thinking about. Oh great, pour a little bit more mud on the question, will I? Anyway, that kiss was certain.

Remember Cedric Diggory" (It was at the goodbye feast, they all raised a goblet to Cedric and said his name aloud...it was beautiful. I'm dying for this to be in the movie. Then Hagrid simply said "What'll come will come, and you'll have to meet it when it does." (That would make a great ending line...I hope it's used)

I'm pretty sure there was a gathering in the great hall with the floating candles. That's where Harry was kissed by Fleur. Dumbledore spoke but I don't remember what he said. I don't remember Hagrid speaking (that's not to say he didn't). That wasn't the end though, because there was a scene of people filing out, the Beuxbaton girls first then the Durmstrang boys.

I don't remember anything said about Neville and his grandmother.

HalfBloodPrince: 1. Do they show the entrance of Hogwarts (the castle). Like do they show the front doors and some of the grounds.

No, not in a scene by itself. Students go in and out, but I don't remember a great door where I would say to myself, man, that's a big, cool-assed door! The grounds are shown a lot, especially when Harry is being chased by the dragon (and Harry is flying on his broom, I'm sorry I wasn't clear about that). As far as pure scenery goes though, I remember much more from Azkaban. The biggest ooh ah, I wish I lived there scenery scene was right before the 2nd task (thanks again felipe!) when they showed the lake and moutains in all their glory. *deep intake of breath time*

2. Do they have the part where Hermione captures Rita Skeeter in her Beetle form? (Rita is an animagus so she can turn into a Beetle if you didn't know since u didn't read the book =) )

No Rita as a beetle. She interviewed Harry once, then right before the dragon task, had her photographer photograph Harry and Hermione while they were hugging, to give the wrong impression. Not to get into the ship wars, but my impression was Hermione was worried about Harry strictly as a friend. She hugged him right before Dumbledore came in with the bag of miniature dragons. They didn't realize Rita and the photographer were on the other side of the room. Later, a picture of the two of them hugging appeared on the front page of the Daily Prophet (thanks filipe!).

There were many many taps, in a circle. It was a fantastic sight. I don't remember colored bubbles, but you know, that's something they can easily put in during post production and there are months left to go.

Pinky_Powers: Of the Grave Yard scene, when Harry fought Lord Voldemort, did their two wands connect with any kind of numinous beam or thread? I believe that I have read all of your replies thus far and have found no news on this particular detail, if the movie deviated from the book’s account of this moment, then how did Lily and James Potter appear and help Harry?

Those special effects were nowhere near done. They were solid red and green animated drawing lines. I think it will be spectacular when they're done.

I must admit that I didn't think Harry's parents came out of Voldemort's wand as Aseldar says below. To me they just appeared from beside Harry. I wouldn't be too upset though. There's so much to be done to that whole sequence that nothing I say should be taken as gospel.

Or is he, god willing, more "real'?

Not over-the-top. Not hammy. Not kiddy cartoonish evil. Freaking terrifying, is what I'd say!

His voice wasn't manipulated, but again, the whole sequence in the graveyard was far far from finished, so I have no idea how he'll end up. They can change his voice and make his face unrecognizable though, and he'd still be terrifying.

He was terrifyingly real!

2. You mentioned that Harry's parents help him in the graveyard. The fans understand the exposition here, but did the movie make this event clear to you? Did you get what happened to Voldemort's wand? Or was it like "What the heck?!"

Well, more a bit like like what the heck? but I judge nothing, because special effects and doing whatever they have to do to finish the fight scene will help a lot. The gist was perfectly clear. Voldemort was terrifying. Harry was in a really bad spot. One student had already been killed. His parents appeared to help their son. Harry got away. In the end, what more does a person need to know? (don't take that personally. Details always make scenes richer and more interesting. The more you know the deeper the world is to the viewer. I understand that. Which is why I think fans will get a lot out of the scene, and newbies will still understand the gist.)

3. Did Harry and Voldemort's wands magically "lock together" in the graveyard? If so, did this make sense as well? And if so, did the filmmakers get carried away with flashing lights and plasma and that type of junk during this particular scene? One of my pet peeves are these boring "light shows" that so many big budget films include now adays (the climax to the HULK and the patronus climax in POA are examples)

final print. The wands did lock together in a fierce clasp. It made sense to me. Isn't that what dueling magic wands do? I don't mean to alarm anyone, but they locked the way the Ghostbusters laser beams locked. Now, please don't anyone go around saying I said GoF was like Ghostbusters. I'm strictly talking about that effect, which could well change radically under the keyboard's god-like powers.

4. Was the scene where Wormtail chops his arm off graphic? I don't understand how they'll get this type of self mutilation in under the PG rating. Or do you think this movie was aiming for the PG-13 anyway?

It wasn't graphic to me. I only thought he cut his arm until the next scene, where it was clear that his whole hand was gone. Some scenes had his hand back, but that's just a clean-up item in the post production phase. Later, Voldemort magically gave him another hand. Those special effects weren't done yet either.

Yes. The more I think about this the more it firms up in my head. I just don't remember the dialogue.

Also, please describe how violent you would consider the scene when Peter Pettigrew cuts off his hand and takes blood from Harry.

As I said, I didn't realize that Petigrew was cutting off his own hand. I thought he was just cutting into it. Violent, but not "oh my god, is he really going to do that??? violent. It was hidden. Then, we see the stump of his arm. That shocked me. Then he cuts Harry's arm, a very nasty cut too. At least he didn't cut his arm off. It looked very painful.

Did they show it in shadow (takes away from the violence level) or did they show Pettigrew actually take the dagger to his hand?

Not even in shadow. Not shown at all.

Does Voldemort torture Harry at all using a curse from his wand? The same goes for Moody/Crouch, Jr. when they are in class. Is Harry put under a curse where he must fight it off (should cause him to be very tired or weak)?

I don't remember anything like any of that.

I only remember Harry crouching over Cedric, not wanting to let him go. His cries were heartwrenching. I cried, and I didn't even know the character, other than he seemed like a very nice guy. I'm always more affected by survivors grief though. I don't cry because Satine died, I cry because Christian loved her so much and his very vocal grief punches in and grabs my heart and soul. So, whatever "actorly" thing Dan did, he did it very well, because I felt almost the same way. Did he cry tears? I don't know, we didn't really see his face.

FreedomStar: What did the Death Eaters (Voldemort's supporters) look like? I keep picturing them as these great hulking, masses in heavy, flapping robes with a 'ghost' mask like you see on kids during Halloween (yes, a very childish view) or one of those white masks that just covers your eyes and nose.

Scary. Very scary. Maybe not as scary as the Azkaban guards (who were terrifyingly scary), but still scary. Long black robes. Strange mask, I think, but I can't describe it. It's faded away. Lots of things are fading away. Maybe tomorrow I'll remember more.

Hi all! I'm a night person, and I'd only had 4 hours sleep the night before, so I slept like a rock for 14 hours! No dreams, nothing, just pure sleep. Thank you for your patience. I am committed to staying here and answering every single question, so I haven't abandoned you.

I realize it's late on the other side of the Atlantic, so many of you have been waiting through your whole day and evening. I'm sorry about that. I should have many more done by the time you wake up.

I'm not sure my memory is any better even after so much sleep. I have a terrible fear of saying something that will contradict what one of the other reviewers says (people who know what they're talking about like that review on Mugglenet). Please bear with me and my terrible memory and ignorance and always take the word of someone who knows over anything I might say.

Right now what I have to do is get a handle on where to start. There are so many more and I have to make sure no one's left unanswered. It just might take a while. I will deal with that, but I just wanted to apologise to questioners in advance, that their names won't be listed with the questions. It was kind of cool when I could answer each person's question with their names. Now it will be more impersonal. Don't think I don't appreciate your hard work though kyrane, I do! ImposterMoody: 1. Could you tell that Moody was the bad guy, and/or could you tell it wasn't really him before he was unmasked? Or was it a big surprise that made you go "Ooooh! How clever how they put that together," or was it like "How could I have guessed that!?"

I was shocked. I really liked Moody. When he first came onscreen I wasn't sure what to make of him. I thought, this guy's going to turn out to be a bad guy, but by the end, it wouldn't have crossed my mind that he was a bad guy. I love love love that he wasn't *really* a bad guy, that he was imprisoned and Barty jr had just transformed himself to look like Moody. I was elated.

GracieInGreek: Yes, yes, my ship-preference is obvious. But I, like everyone one else, -was- curious about what Harry and Hermione were arguing about near the...lake, I think it was? I think someone posted a picture of that scene. I'm guessing they were arguing about Ron, but near the end of the snippet we saw, Harry looked a little ashamed of himself. Do you remember at all what the circumstances of the argument/the reasons were?
And, *giggles*, was the part where Ron comes in escorted by his sister and a bunch of girls from asking Fleur to the ball, looking all shell-shocked, funny, in your opinion? Thanks again!

Yes to the last question. That was a funny scene. Regarding the picture by the lake, Ron and Ginny and Hermione had come down to where Harry and (I think) Cedric were. R&G held back and Hermione went up to tell Harry some convoluted thing like someone told someone that someone said that someone told someone who told Ron that Hagrid was looking for Harry. Harry was totally confused, so Hermione went back to Ron to try and get it straight and she went back to Harry and said the same thing. Harry said "Tell Ron..." (Ron was standing right there, after all), and Hermione got mad and said something like "I'M NOT AN OWL!"

Oh. And okay--I know you're a bit older and may go "ew!" on this one, but...I think most can agree that Dan is fairly adorable. We know he was topless in the bath-scene with Myrtal. So--seriously, not trying to be pervy, though he's only a year younger than me--how's Dan's upper-body?

I don't remember that scene of Harry and Hermione dancing. I don't even remember Harry dancing at all. I do remember Hermione dancing with Krum. She was having a great time too. That was during when the punk rock group were playing. Everybody was dancing except Harry, Ron and their bored to tears dates. Hagrid danced with Madame Maxime. I don't remember Snape dancing.

Lady Narcissa: Equipoise, thanks so much for answering all these questions! One more for you. You mentioned Lucius Malfoy (aka Draco's father aka Jason Isaacs) appearing in the graveyard scene. Is he in any other scene in the movie? Maybe in the stands at the World Cup? Or at the campgrounds when the Dark Mark appears in the sky?

I don't remember Lucius at the World Cup, which doesn't mean he wasn't there and I just don't remember. There was a scene where he talks to Harry and Hermione and Ron, but I don't remember when it was or what was said.

Does Hermione kiss Harry on the cheek at the end like she does in the book? If not, that makes me upset because they show all the Ron/Hemione relationship evidence but cut all the good Harry/Hermione stuff. *sighs* Hermione didn't even really hold Ron's hand in the third book, but Hermione does actually kiss Harry.
do we see much Hagrid ? do we learn he is half giant ?

I wish I could say more than "I don't remember" but I really don't. I remembered a kiss on the cheek, but now I'm sure I'm remembering the kiss that Fleur gave Harry.

You say that he had lots of green dots on his face.
but was his face normal (for adding special effects later) or did he have like red snake eyes, flat nose, white skin. Like were the dots just to like move bits of his face or actually add features do you think? basically what did he look like? does Voldemort have hands with long fingers etc... that look like spiders?

Ralph Fiennes looked completely normal, except that his head was bald and he had green dots on his face. No other prosthetics were used. voldemort's whole look will be done in CGI it seems. People should be prepared for something amazing. Fiennes was terrifying without anything extra, so I can't even imagine what he'll be like once they're done with his looks. Don't take the younger ones!

In the scene, where Barty Crouch (played by Roger Lloyd-Pack, one of the judges of the Tournament) condems his son to Azkaban, is there a woman among the convicts?

I didn't see any (which of course, means nothing. In every scene, there is so much to see and my eyes always zero in on the main action, which is how the filmmakers want it. Fans will notice TONS more than what I did).

How was Snape (Alan Rickman) in this? Were there any references to his shady past?

No references that I remember. Alan Rickman is a god. There's never enough Alan Rickman for me. I just love looking at him.

Oh, and did they show the band that played at the ball? I do hope guitarist extraordinaire Jonny Greenwood got some screentime.

All the band members got screen time. Multiple times. They looked very goth.

This sounds so cool, were there many out door scenes? Did we get to see the hillside down to Hagrid's Hut we saw in POA???

More outdoor scenes than indoor scenes, it seemed to me. I don't remember seeing Hagrid's place though.

What about Hogwarts scenery do we see more of the grounds???

Yes, though I don't know what we saw that was never shown before. Except the arena where the dragon fights were held. I hadn't seen that before. It was perched up on a high hill (I thought, how do people get up there? They must fly). The arena seemed very small though. I can't imagine even a fraction of the school would fit in there.

Do we see more of Hogwarts? Its corridor's, Classrooms, Grounds etc...?

Not really that I remember. Moody's classroom and office was new of course. The staircase where Neville is found spaced out.

Were there good Ron and Hermione moments?

I loved the moment that I already described at the lake. That was wonderful.

No, I didn't see a one.

I answered this. It affected me just by the sound of his anguish. He was heartbroken. He'd saved Cedric's life once, but couldn't do it again.

Btw, Harry hesitated when he saved Cedric's life the first time, looking back and forth from Cedric to the crystal goblet (what is the name of that?). Cedric said something like for a moment there I didn't think you'd come back, and Harry says something like me neither. It was all well-done. You actually wondered there for a moment if Harry was going to go back for Cedric.

What about Hagrid's Blast ended Skrewts, the creatures they were working with in his care of magical creatures class? were they in there? and were they in the maze?

I didn't see them at all.

Oh, and at the end, did Harry give Fred and George (The Twins) the prizemoney (1000 galleons) for winning the tournament?

Not that I remember. (just out of curiousity, why would he?)

I don't remember her dancing with Harry. She danced a lot with Krum.

2.- How went the whole story about Rita reporting that Harry and Hermione date?

Hermione picked up the paper and there was a moving image of them embracing, then looking at the photographer in surprise. I forget what she said, but she wasn't very happy.

Btw, may I just say now that I LOVE how the images move in the newspaper and wanted posters. That's so cool.

3.- What was the reaction of Harry and Ron when Hermione showed up all pretty in the Ball?

They looked at her in astonishment. She was beautiful.

4.- Did you see any jealousy from Hermione toward Fleur? How do you interpret it if so.

I don't remember any jealousy from Hermione at any time.

We were wondering if you could tell us about the graveyard/Voldemort scene? Does Harry get tortured or hurt in any way, whether by a spell or physical abuse? Does he look scared??

Harry does get hurt when Pettigrew cuts him arm. His forehead hurts badly. There might have been more but it all went so quickly.

And about this whole sobbing thing- is it whimpy sobbing like the "sirius scene" in PoA? Or is he like kneeling down over Cedric's body truly sobbing his heart out??? Just wondering...

Not whimpy. Not kneeling either. He was down on the floor, holding on to Cedric as if his life depended on it. They had to pull him off Cedric's body. He was in anguish. It was very affecting, to me anyway.

I was wondering if you could tell us a bit about the Durmstrang headmaster, Karkaroff. In what direction did the studio decide to go with his costuming? What did you think of the actor's performance?

OOH HE WAS COOL! I loved him and want to see him again. I don't understand though, how in one scene he's in shackles inside a prison container, naming names in front of judges, and then he's a teacher. Huh? Nothing about that was explained. The actor was great. He was mesmerizing. I thought, this guy has to play Rasputin, if he hasn't already. If he and Lucius ever faced off, I think my head would explode in intensity. As far as costuming, kind of gyspy-like.

The only spell for the tasks (that I remember, which is a phrase that should be in giant letters at the beginning of every one of my posts) had to do with the weed that Neville tells Harry about in the library (that's a really cool library!) I was a bit shocked that more magic wasn't used. Isn't that the point of a wizard tournament, to see who can use spells the best?

I just remembered that Snape confronts Harry, thinking Harry stole the weed from his office. Another Snape scene.

3. In some behind-the-scenes footage, they showed Harry and Hermione arguing with each other (but there was no sound). They never argued in the book... so what were they arguing about?

That had to have been the lake scene I described earlier.

4. Have you seen the teaser trailer? There's a part where Hermione is in the crowd and she screams, "HARRY!" It's quite a dramatic yell. Many are trying to figure out what part of the movie that could be in. We think it may be when Harry's fighting the dragon OR when Harry comes back from the graveyard. Any input?

I haven't seen the teaser trailer since it came out. I've avoided watching it to keep my memory with what I saw. Since my memory is fading fast, I'll have to re-watch it. It might jog my memory. That scene was the dragon fight though.

5. Do Hermione and Cho ever interact? (they don't in the book, which is why I'm wondering if they do in the film and if so, how it goes)

No.

6. Emma Watson (the actress who plays Hermione) has said that this film features a lot of Hermione worrying about Harry and his safety. Overall, how would you describe the interactions/relationship between Harry and Hermione in the fourth film?

Very sweet, except when she's mad at being made an owl proxy at the lake. Right before Harry fights the dragon, she's on one side of the tent and Harry's on the other. She calls to him and they talk for a bit, not seeing each other because of the tent, then she finds the opening and goes in and hugs Harry. You can tell she's really, seriously worried about him.

1.)I would like to know, when Harry looked into Dumbledore`s pensieve (the cauldron thing you mentioned) was there a woman, and if so, in your own words, how did she act like?

Again, I don't remember anything like that, but that means nothing.

Yes.

I don't think so. You can bet that I'll be looking for one when the movie comes out.

Well, it was just regular dancing, nothing that made me go "Man, look at them dance!" Let's just say that this wasn't Strictly Ballroom or Mad Hot Ballroom. It was just normal kids dancing, nothing wrong with that. It was more realistic.

6.)How was the acting of krum(the bulgarian from Durmstrang), Fleur(the pretty french girl from the Beauxbatons), and Cedric(the other triwizard champion)?

All good, but none of them had big scenes. Cedric more than the others, since he tells Harry about the bath, and almost gets killed and then does get killed.

Fleur was a blip. She didn't stand out at all except when the camera was right on her. She did kiss Harry though.

Well, now I'm all confused. I didn't think it was a spider, but it was an odd creature. It wasn't a grasshopper, that just just the closest thing I could think of to describe it. Maybe it was a new creature they came up with that crossed a spider and a grasshopper. I don't know, but you can bet I'll be looking at it closely when I see the movie again. I'll probably look at it and say to myself, you dork, it WAS a spider! It's just that, I have a terrible fear of spiders, and Potter has used a lot of them, and they always freak me out. It wasn't as if this thing came out and I said, YIKES, ANOTHER SPIDER! which I could see myself doing if in fact it were a spider.

Does Voldemort's corpse rise out of his tomb??? In the lego toys there is a grave for tom riddle. Weird.

Not a tomb, he rose out of a cauldron. The Tom Riddle grave is what I think Harry was trapped on.

1: ok, now for one of those minute detials: do you happen to remember if Harry/Ron/hermione go for a walk (or whatever) before the quiditch world cup match, and come across the guy wearing the womans nightdress? He's being begged by a ministry official to put on trousers, and his reply is just so funny in the book, I'd love to know if it made the film.

2: Is there much talk about the Leprechaun gold? Ron repays Harry in Leprechaun gold, not realizing it vanishes after a few hours, then he gets all mad that Harry didnt say anything about it. In the book, it's a good scene, in that it demonstrates Rons jealousy over Harry's wealth.

No scene like that. I never got the feeling that Ron was jealous over Harry's wealth. The only time it came up was when Harry tried to pay for something Ron wanted from the candy lady on the train, and Ron said no no, he didn't want it.

3: is there much/anything about the twins trying to "blackmail" Bagman over their wager at the world cup? that reminds me about Bagman!!! Oh I do hope that they kept his character in the movie!!!!!

I don't remember a scene regarding betting.

I also remember one little itsy-bitsy question: Who did they show dancing in the movie? Did they show Draco and Pansy(and if so, what were they wearing cuz in the book they said that Draco looked like a vicar(priest) That i would like to see)! Also, did they show Hagrid, Fred and Angelina, Neville and Ginny, Cedric and Cho, and Hagrid and Madame Maxime, and Moody dancing? As well, did they explain that Hagrid and Madame Maxime are half-giants,(even though Madame Maxime denies it!!)

They didn't explain about Hagrid and Madame Maxine being half-giants, but they really liked each other. Lots of people were shown dancing, but I only really remember Hermione and Krum, because they were having such a good time. Who's Fred and Angelina? Neville danced, but I can't remember with who. Was it Ginny in the book? The scene earlier where Neville was teaching himself to dance was dead sweet. Ron and Harry watched him for a while, but didn't break in on him. He never knew they were there. Neville had a tremendous time at the ball...later in the evening Harry wakes up and hears creaks. It's scary until you see Neville, just getting in. I don't remember Cedric and Cho dancing, but they probably did show it. Everyone danced except Ron and Harry and their unfortunate dates, until someone asked Harry's date to dance and she happily accepted. Then the other one stomps off. In that scene, the tables and chairs were *completely* empty because everyone was on the dance floor. All except those 4.

What is the reveal of Hogwarts like (when the students first arive)? or was that special effect not yet finished?

Lots of scenes showing Hogwarts weren't finished. I can't remember what the first reveal was. I'm awfully sorry, but when I try to think of it, I can only think of the scene in the first movie, which was spectacular.

While I'm on the subject, those who read the oscarwatch thread will have read that I said, about the first 2 movies, that I thought they were just "alright." I thought more of them that that. The 1st one's content pretty much blew my mind. I loved that world, and every scene had wonderful things in it. I saw it 2-3 times in the theater, and read the book right away. It just didn't stick with me, I didn't keep up with it, and I regret that. It would have been nice to be up to date when I saw GoF. It certainly would have helped you guys!

Now for my oh-my-god-they'll-hate-me-now! admission. I saw Chamber of Secrets twice in the theater, and fell asleep both times. Now, please know that I don't say that in a nasty way like you would hear at AICN ("man, that movie sucked so bad I fell asleep!") because that's not the case. The job I was working at the time caused me to get up very very early, and when I went to see it, I was sooooo tired, I couldn't keep my eyes open. Had nothing to do with the quality of the movie. I was so mad at myself! I went to see it again, and the same thing happened! Again, NOTHING to do with the quality of the movie. That was a bad time for me to go be seeing movies, because it happened at a few other movies too. I always meant to see it again, and never did. Please don't hate me!

When Prisoner of Azkaban came out, I saw it the first day it opened, and saw it a few more times after that. By that time I really wanted to read the books, so we bought that box set. I just haven't found the time to read them. Shame on me. As far as why I hadn't read them before, fiction isn't usually my thing. The only fiction books I've read in the last 10 years are the LOTR books, after Fellowship came out, and a few Stephen King books. I devour non-fiction and those take up my reading time.

She talks to Harry for quite a while, so much was said, but I don't remember what, or if any references to CoS was in there. (you see, I don't even remember Myrtle from CoS)

I WILL READ THE BOOKS, HONEST! And I will go back and watch the 1st 2 movies again. In fact, I'll do a marathon (I love movie marathons) with all 3 sometime between now and the 4th movie's release.

I think so, yes.

I'm an adult fan, and while I'm definitely interested in Ron, Hermione and Harry, I'm also very interested in the portrayal of the adult characters. If I have any critique of the movies thus far, it is that they sacrifice the adults' stories in favor of the students'. Coming away from the screening, do you feel as if you learned anything more about the adults and how they factor into the overall story?

Not really. I wanted to know more about Moody's character. Please, please, someone tell me the book goes into more detail about his background!

For example, does it seem that Harry and Sirius have developed a godson/godfather relationship?

I didn't get that impression. Just friends, and Sirius wanted to warn Harry.

Did the movie leave you wondering about Snape's past at all, or was the revealing of the Dark Mark tattoo just a side-note?

I've always wondered about Snape's past. I had forgotten the revealing of the Dark Mark, but my memory was jogged and it was there. I didn't know its signifigance though. It was a cool effect.

Was there any indication of Dumbledore directing Sirius and Snape to put aside old grudges since they're going to have to work together, now?

No.

Is the scene in the forest where fake Moody's father shows up in the movie?

Yes, dead.

On that note, may I ask about Ginny? You said she was in about three scenes, and I'm curious as to how many lines she had, because in the last movie she only had one.

I don't remember her saying anything, but that's not to say she doesn't. If I think of something I'll post.

No, I didn't see any. There might have been some on the sidelines or just passing that fans would see right away, but I don't remember any scene specifically featuring house elfs.

1) What type of rating do you think the movie would be getting, do you think it would pull a pg-13 rating?

I wouldn't be surprised at a PG-13 just because it's so dark. In the oscarwatch thread I was told that Azkaban was pushing a PG rating. Considering that Voldemort is going to be way scary when he's done, and someone does die, I'll bet it's PG-13.

2) In the Graveyard scene does Wormtail (petter) cut off his hand, and then has it later replaced by Voldormort by a silver hand?

Yes and yes.

3) During a defence against the dark arts class does Moody show off all 3 curses to the class on some spiders?

Yes. I've already said that I'm not sure if it's a spider. It didn't seem like a spider to me, but maybe it was just a weird species of spider. I've already said that I have a fear of spiders. This creature jumps on student's heads and attaches itself to Malfoy like an Alien facehugger. I wasn't freaked at those scenes, they were kind of funny (until it dies on Neville's desk and affects him, then it turned very serious). I think I would have been ready to run out of the theater if it had been a "that's DEFINITELY a spider!!" type spider. Maybe they all figured that there were just too many spiders at Hogwarts from the earlier movies, and decided to make something a bit different. I don't know. Then again, maybe I'm nuts. That's certainly a possibility.

4) You probably wont remember this cause it is a one line thing, but does Dumbledore mention anything during the bale scene about a Room of requirement where he found some nice chamber pots in at one point (deals hugely with the 5th book)

Nope, I have no idea what you're talking about, sorry. What's the bale scene?

I am curious, you said that Harry was running from the dragon...did he not have his broom?????

When he was in the arena, he was running around, hiding behind rocks. Then he got his broom (I'm blanking on how he got it) and flew away, with the dragon chasing after him. So yes, he did have his broom. I wasn't clear about that before, sorry.

1.) Is there some sort of explanation of Voldemort's clever plan to place Crouch Jr. (the guy who was at the end, who looked like Mad-Eye Moody) at Hogwarts, how he had Crouch Jr. as Moody enter Harry in the Tournament ect.?

No, not that I recall.

(In the book, there is a scene where Frank Bryce [the old man] is killed, Harry sees all of this, even though he is not there. And again in Trelawny's classroom) This is essential to the plot of the next book. Is it in the fourth movie?

Harry does have a couple of dreams where he sees Barty Jr, Pettigrew and Voldemort in the old house. I had forgotten that Harry woke from a dream after the snake killed the old man). Trelawny wasn't in the movie. (Emma Thompson, right?)

3.) You already confirmed no hospital scene. Is there a scene where Dumbledore forces Harry to tell him everything about what happened on the night of the third task? At the part where you see who is Imposter!Moody, is there a potion given to the Imposter? A potion perhaps called Veritaserum?

No on the first question, I don't recall Dumbledore forcing Harry to talk. Yes to the 2nd. If I remember right, Snape forces not Moody to drink something, then a violent transformation takes place where Barty Jr is revealed. I wouldn't know the name of the potion.

4.) Does the movie partially focused on the devoloping relationships and teenage-ery moments? Did it seem that the film was targeted at a certain age group? Were the directors trying to make the characters seem more like modern teenagers?

I think they did try to develop the relationships of everybody. (boy, is that an unsatisfying answer or what??)

I didn't get the feeling that the film was targeting any specific age group. It was just telling a story. Good movies don't have to just appeal to one or two age groups.

No to the last question. Harry, Ron and Hermione could never ever be like modern teenagers. I didn't feel like the writers were trying to "update" them at all. Well, except for the music at the dance. I think they'll regret that choice in years to come. I don't just say that because I'm an old poot, compared to most of you, and it's not my type of music. Not to make fans of the group mad, but the whole thing about the Harry Potter world is that it's supposed to be timeless. Things that "date" the movie are bad, unless it's in the "real" world, like at the Dursleys. That's what I think, anyway.

5.) Did it FOCUS on the tournament, and Harry's extreme procrastination in getting the needed information on the tasks?

The tourney wasn't as, I don't know, as "focused" as I would have expected. The events were important but didn't *feel* important to me, until they actually started, and then they were, to my mind, too short. I can't explain that better, sorry.

Harry's procrastination was HUGE. I kept wanting to jump into the movie and shake the boy ("WHAT ARE YOU DOING?? YOU SHOULD GET BUSY!!")

6.) Did you get the interaction between Sirius and Harry? Do you get some sort of an idea Sirius is a lovable, loyal friend of Harry who is in touch with his inner child? I know you said he was only in CGI format in the fire, but was there letters, notes, telepathy - something to get you attached to Sirius???? What about Cedric (the other Hogwarts student in the tournament)? Is it a painful shock when he is killed?

The only notes regarding Sirius were the back and forth notes that the owls send and brought. I got the idea that Sirius was a loyal friend. I didn't get a lovable or inner child thing. So I guess, no, there wasn't really anything to get you attached to Sirius, just thankful that he could help Harry in some way.

Cedric you didn't really get to know. He seemed like a really nice guy, stalwart and friendly. It was nice of him to help Harry. Still, there was an aura because I did feel a shock when he died, especially since Harry had just saved him.

7.) What is Harry's attidude at the end of the movie? After witnessing Cedric's death, Canon!Harry shuts himself away from the outside world. He talks only to Ron and Hermione, and they don't even talk about the events of the last task. Does this happen in the movie, or does it just end without any insight on Harry's emotions of the graveyard sequence?

I don't really remember details, sorry. He seemed distant, and very sad. Older. Poor guy.

8.) Is there any talk of Dumbledore's plan now that Voldemort is back? How Dumbledore is handling this situation by himself - sending off Hagrid and Madame Maxime (Giant Woman) to make friends with the giants, Snape to go spy on Voldemort, and Sirius to go get Lupin and restart the Order of the Phoenix (A group against Voldemort)?

Wow, no, but all that sounds really interesting!

In the movie do they show the Leaving Feast or is it left out? Because thats when Dumbledore tells the whole school and guests about Voldemort's return.

There is a gathering in the great hall, and Dumbledore speaks.

To help some people out who were asking about the voldemort thing with those dots on his face, I work in movie cg/special effects (im a compositor) so if I know what unfinished scenes look like (by description) I can probably help out with what there end result will be. Like those dots, there tracking markers, if I know where the dots are, I can tell you what features will probably be taken from them (if theres dots or circles around the eyes/eye area then we will obviously get the snake eyes) but if all the features as in cheekbones ect, key spots we can expect the face to be morphed into another shape, the hands we probably wouldnt see anything at all they would just be cg added later, IF any of the house elves are in it, they would probably just be orange balls (or a diff color ball on a stick) that harry (or one of the other characters) were interacting with

I don't remember any balls, or the characters talking to someone who wasn't there. It's possible they left those scenes out of this cut because they would just be too weird.

Also you said that the part where Moody/Crouch Jr had the grasshoppers that effected the kids, were they grasshoppers or spiders? (book uses spiders, i find it an odd thing to change to, but considering rupert really does have a fear of spiders, maybe they were being nice lol) the one under the impirius curse should tapdance, im guessing that would be later, cruciatus would have been the one that effected longbottom the most, twisting/convulsing lil spider as if every 'bone' was beign put in ways it shouldnt, and the killing curse would have killed the third one, was there three at all or was it just the one with crucio?

I really only remember 2 phases of the...thing. One where he was jumping around landing on student's heads, and then when he jumped on Neville'd desk and died. I remember thinking at the time that...wasn't there 3 spells? What was the other one? I was confused. The...thing...convulsed before death, but not as if it were in deep, horrifying pain. I never got a connection between what it was going through and Neville. Just that Neville looked shocked that it died on his desk (as anyone would), then Neville in the next scene staring off into space.

also dumbledore.. how was his attitude throughout the movie? I ask this because Richard Harris's acting was more in key with how his character should act. and Michael in the third movie really.. overdid it. He was very loud (as apposed to the more quiet composure of Harris) and He talked with his arms alot very.. oddly animated-like. I was wondering if he continued the same attitude for him in this movie, or if he was more like the dumbledore from the first two.

I couldn't say without reviewing the first two movies. This Dumbledore wasn't loud or flamboyant. He seemed very fatherly. I liked him a lot.

Also I am curious sense it has been a constant debate in the forums and I was wondering what the director did on it, in the graveyard scene, how you say Malfoy, and the other characters in the circle, do you remember seeing snape in there? (voldemort should have said there were 3 people missing, 1 who was a coward, one who he has lost forever, and one who was loyal) im curious if the director took it into his own hands and put snape IN the graveyard as one of the hooded men, or if he didnt, also if he mentioned the missing people (not just the ones who were missing due to azkaban) Also at the end did Dumbledore ask Snape to put himself in danger, that he knew what he must do if he was prepared to do it? or something along those lines? and then have him (snape) leave the room abruptly / swiftly) at the same time hagrid should also exit the scene because something was asked of him?

I don't think Snape was there at the graveyard at all, not that I remember. And btw, I only remembered seeing Harry's parents, but there were other people there, it's just that I wasn't paying attention to them. I was marveling that Harry's parents were there! I think I can picture the old man now. I don't know about Cedric

You mentioned a band at the Yule Ball playing something punk rock-ish (the band is the Weird Sisters). Were there lyrics to the song, and if so, were they magical world oriented? And can you describe the appearance/instruments/etc. of them?

I have no idea about the lyrics, sorry. They looked very cool, very goth, wearing black and with Marilyn Manson-ish makeup, mainly around the eyes. The instruments didn't seem abnormally weird. I didn't say to myself, wow, what a weird set of drums! or wow, what a weird guitar!

Watt: Equipoise: Did you eat popcorn while watching the movie? If so, did it have butter? What size did you get? Was it good?

No popcorn, but I did get the Nacho/Hog Dog Combo. I got extra cheese, but it was kindof nasty. They wern't good nachos and cheese like at AMC theaters. I put mustard on the hotdog, and it dripped and stained my blouse. The combo came with a drink so I got Diet Coke, but I only sipped it because I didn't want to have to go to the bathroom during the movie.

The girl sitting beside me had popcorn though! I don't recall if she had a drink, sorry.

Btw, I read back through some of my posts (sorry about the typos) and saw that there were a few times I said something like "I already answered that" which might have come off sounding miffed, but it wasn't meant that way. I don't mind answering questions I've already answered. In some cases I don't have anything to add, but in others I think of more details or something else to say, so really, don't anyone think I was glaring at you when I said that.

Btw2, thank you VERY much to those people who have been defending me in the Mugglenet News Comments area. I read every one (the last one was something like #230) and many of them caused my eyes to bug out. I was talked out of responding to anyone there, but it's so hard to not say anything when you're being attacked for just seeing a movie.

Which makes coming here all the more wonderful. To read things that make you feel so bad, then read things that make you feel so good, helps so much. I judge the Harry Potter community by the people here and the people who have defended me there, not by the negative comments. And just for the record, I don't judge Mugglenet itself negatively from those nasty or misguided comments. It seems like a fine place otherwise.

I didn't see him. He could have been around and a fan would have noticed him right away, but I saw no scenes that featured him. He's very cute, so if they'd specifically shown him, I think I would have said "awwww!" and remembered.

Well, I would really just like to know whether or not Dan's/Harry's crying was realistic or not? Like, were there any tears? At any rate, was it convincing?

Fleur, I assume. I didn't see her kiss Ron. I don't remember Hermione getting jealous at all.

Did you think the movie's climax was scary, as it was in the first three movies?

The graveyard scene, even as rough as it was (rough as in minimal special effects, to be added or finished later) was very scary, even if I was a bit confused. The scene in Moody's office was also confusing, but it was scary too. The confusion of both scenes wasn't a fatal flaw, not to me. It all just make me want to see it again, and read the book.

well you said that Hermione did Kiss Harry at the end, and that there was a big party...a party for what?????

The kiss I was thinking of was given by Fleur to Harry. I got the gist of this while reading back earlier. I said parting and you thought I said partying. Sorry, there was no party (other than the ball, of course).

I didn't notice anything overly trendy. They just looked normal. I've noticed several photos (while looking though galleries) that show the clothes.

And the Wizards at the World Cup, were any dressed oddly (like the didn't know how to dress like Muggles)?

Has anyone filed a missing person's report on msmapper yet? I think someone should. I'm sorry, I wouldn't have noticed this, and it pains me, because it's a cool little detail that I can understand fans wanting to know about. I understand about fans wanting to know all the details I can't provide. I wish I could.

How much time do the Weasleys get at the beginning. Was it rushed, or was there a nice family dynamic there (even briefly)?

I've always liked the family dynamic of the Weasleys. You don't get much extra here, but what's there is nice. They look really comfortable together, and it's no wonder Harry wants to be part of their family. They're mainly all together going up the hill, grabbing onto the boot (what's up with that, btw? I loved it!), walking to the tent, some talking inside, then the panic when the tent village is being destroyed.

Were there hints of the developing friendship of Hermione/Ginny? (I love this little sub-textual friendship in the book, it becomes more text in OotP. But I like Hermione with a GIRL friend)

I can understand why you would. I like them both too. But I didn't see them interact.

Where/when did Hermione ask Ron to 'ask her first' if there's another ball (after the ball or at the end of the film)? You say there's a final embrace at the end (for the trio), is this at school, at the train station, somewhere else?

I thought there were two scenes. One comes as Harry and Ron are leaving the ball. Hermione is very upset and cries. The other, seems to me, was outside, near the very end. I could have sworn there was a scene where Hermione tells Ron to just ask her next time, and that that was a separate scene from the one at the ball. I'm sure it was still at the school, and not the train station. I don't remember seeing the train station this time.

How do the boys react to girls in general?

Awkward, bumbling, cute.

Did Ginny have significant lines in her scenes at least? And did the Weasley Twins have any intresting moments? (beyond defying the age line).

I'm sorry again, but I don't remember Ginny saying anything, which, as I'm sure you've all learned by now, doesn't mean she didn't.

Does Krum talk a lot/have a lot of scenes? Is he ever shown to be worried about the Harry/Hermione relationship? How often do we see Viktor Krum and Hermione together?

I don't remember Krum saying much, if anything at all. There were no scenes I saw of Krum being concerned about Harry and Hermione. Harry and Hermione do talk about Krum. Harry asks her what they talk about and Hermione says they don't talk much, that Krum is a physical guy. My eyebrows raised at that.

Does Dumbledore's office look any differant than in CoS?

I'd have to go back and watch CoS again.

Do Harry parents look the same as they did when they had Harry in PS/COS (James with short dark hair, and robes and glasses) or the picure of them when they were younger from PoA (James with longer hair, and smaller glasses)?

Hi, I think we interacted in PM at oscarwatch, but without a name I can't be sure. Just in case (and so others can see my answer) I'll cut and paste what I wrote...

Harry did not throw a Potter Stinks badge at Ron. He never even mentioned them to Ron, or gave an indication he thought Ron was behind them. I got the impression that he thought Ron was behind them, but just as a feeling, not from anything that was said. Harry did call Ron a name, but I can't remember what. If it were present day urban, he would have said "You're being a dick" but it was something like "You're being a jerk" but neither is what he said. I'm sorry I can't remember.

I need to know if Hermione kissed Harry...

So this wasn't explained either? The reason Harry's and Voldemort's wands locked together was because they were BROTHER wands, and BROTHER wands cannot fight one another or that effect happens.

I didn't find one second of the movie to be dull at all. If I felt anything about the ending, it was that I was sorry it was ending.

What rating do you think it will get? PG or PG-13?

PG-13, I'd bet on it.

1) Do the Durmstrang (Bulgarian) students dance when they enter the hall? And was this good?

They don't dance, and their entrance is VERY cool. They have these walking sticks that they pound on the ground (that give off sparks). It was an impressive entrance!

I have a question...There are a ship in the movie..of the dumstrang students?

At first I thought, wow, is there one in the book? That'd be a cool thing but something they'd certainly cut out of the movie. I was actually musing on the whole scenario and thinking, wow, how wonderfully progressive! when it came to me (cue slap forehead) that you meant a BOAT-SHIP, not a RELATION-SHIP!

I am wondering whether or not you get to see the Beauxbatons carriage with the big horses, or the Durmstrang Ship coming up from the lake?

The carriage is dim to me, but the Ship is impressive.

1. In the trial scene, he is meant to be about fifteen years younger - does it look like that or do they just leave him about the same? Also, how disturbing is it? It's very harrowing and shouty in the book.

Since I was confused about the character at the time, I couldn't have said, had I answered this earlier. With a few days to think about it (and now that I know more about who he is and what the scene in question was about) I'd say yes, he did look younger. He looked different, which is one reason I was confused. Putting aside the fact that he's a nasty piece of work, the "current day" Crouch Jr. was pretty good-looking.

The whole scene is harrowing, in a dream-like way. I didn't know what the heck was going on or who was who. It all seemed very intense.

2. He's meant to be mad, but does he play it loud or quiet?

Quiet, except for that trial scene. He was wild-eyed and desperate.

3. (bit silly, this one)The book says he's blond, but I can't picture it myself so ...er.. what's his hair like *rolls eyes at self*. I know loads of people who want to know, as he's become a bit of a star since filming this.

Dark-haired, longer than other pictures I've seen of him. He was swoony, had I been inclined to swoon over a bad guy.

You had mentioned that Ron and Harry make up from their fall out. In the book the trio hug after the first task(forced upon by an emotional Hermione). It reads very humerous. Does this make it to the film?

I don't remember, just that they're all very relieved Harry is still alive.

ChaserGirl: do we see Malfoys date for Ball? is she blonde or black haired? is she pretty?

I don't remember Malfoy's date at all.

Hi, I thought I could get some more done, but I haven't been able to and won't for several hours. NO QUESTION WILL BE LEFT UNANSWERED (even if it's with a lame "I don't remember") but I have to go now. I thought I'd better say something for anyone who might be waiting for me. British and European folks will certainly be in bed by the time I get back (sorry HuffleDung). I hope what I've answered already will hold you all for a while. To those who've asked the recent questions, I will get to them. I'll get to them all. In a couple days you'll all have forgotten I exist when you start furiously reading (I'm so happy for you all!!) and every question will have been answered. Maybe not to your satisfaction, but you'll have whatever I can give. It's my pleasure.

I'll have some extra comments too. Filipe has been so kind to answer questions in Messenger, making sure I have correct spellings and telling me names of things and giving me URLs to galleries, which I've been pouring over. I even downloaded and watched a series of behind-the-scenes footage. Thanks to Filipe I now know that NO ONE has seen what Moody or Karkaroff look like! I just assumed that with all the pictures out there people had seen them, and the questions about them were just confirmation or something. I've now seen the one (ONE!) picture of Moody in a poster with Harry big in the front and a smaller version of Moody standing straight in the background. Yikes! That's the only tidbit you've been given!?! I didn't know. I'm sorry, I didn't know. I can tell you now that the Moody in the movie looked NOTHING like the impression you would get from that terrible photo! You will like Moody, I think I can just about guarantee that. I'll explain more later.

Hi all, I'm sorry that Tuesday was a wasted day, with me being gone all day and all evening. It' couldn't be helped. Tomorrow will be a productive day, with me getting all caught up (I hope!). I'll try to get some done for our friends across the Atlantic so they'll have something to read when they wake up.

I don't know who that other Equipoise is, but she has great taste! The world of Happy Rhodes fans is so tiny, it's extremely rare to find someone you don't already know. To try to explain the feeling in HP terms, imagine how it was after the the Philosopher's Stone came out, and if you were one of the few who knew about it and loved it. It was a small, close world and you had your own secret thing you adored...you knew how wonderful and special it was, and you tried to tell others, but most people wouldn't listen, so you kept on loving it and kept on trying to spread the word. One by one, you found others who shared your passion, and when you found someone who already loved it, it was like "Wow! You love Harry Potter/(Happy Rhodes) too?? That's fantastic!." It's kind of like that, if that makes any sense. There's a huge difference, of course. Happy will never be picked up by a record label and achieve mainstream (in the good sense, not the bad sense) success, so I'll never see a time when finding other fans is common. You folks are lucky that so many others have discovered your wonderful thing and share the passion.

I just can't tell you how excited I am for all of you. A new book in just a couple of days!! I feel the rush, even though I'm not, can not possibly be, part of it. (maybe by the next book!!!)
